Co-curricular Activities

Mead Elementary offers opportunities to engage students beyond the school day.

Competitive Robotics

Students are challenged through a cyclical design process to define needs, develop ideas, create prototypes, and test their creations via internal and external competitions and criteria. Students work with VEX IQ products ( which is a comparatively simple platform, designed for elementary school students to be introduced to STEM concepts. Student teams are challenged with solving a problem using their robot in District, regional and state (sometimes national) competitions, allowing students to test their ideas against peers.
